Here are three artworks I
choose that are every caught my attention the most. The first artwork I choose is the denim jacket that have words of Shanghai Kate. Another artwork is the tattoo that says time kills by Rona Yefman. I would like to explain about the first two artworks. The first artwork caught my attention because of the way it was displayed and also what the saying of what Shanghai Kate was saying. The space were it was put up seems like an alley way. The alley way was dark and it was a light shining on the jacket. That light came from the second art work that says time kills. But going back to the first artwork to me it had a powerful saying to it. You had a jacket that had a saying on it that was hanging up in an alley way. To me that jacket can be considered as someone who probably felt that way. A person who encounter darkness or who is trap in darkness still can see the light or feel there is an bigger image within all the darkness that is around them. The second artwork which is called time kills is simple yet have an big image to it. I really didnt understand until I realize that we do live a way buy everything on time. Time means alot to every one who don't have a full control over themselves. Its also shows that you are not living life. Since it was also in the dark alley way that have red and blue neon lights on each way this can show how some one feels.. When you encounter darkness time kills is saying you have different moods about different things. You have alot of ideas within you that you are holding back. So by speaking to yourself you probably can let it all out. You shouldn't let things run you and that how i feel the message "time kills" is trying to portray.
For the last art work the space itself caught my attention. When stepping into the museum it had a big space. The artwork as you can see is shattered pieces put together that are stars. By analyzing the space and the artwork i conclude that its trying to tell the audience that they are bring dreams but its shattered or someone was trying to reach for the stars and it wasn't
working for them. Also is the light shine you, you can see the reflection of your self. Since there are broking pieces put together they are still some big goals that could not be accomplish. So this artwork has told me this is how someone feels or what has happen to them. To me of these art works were in a different type of space I would have a different out look on them. For example the denim jacket. If I have seen this at the MoMa I would have said to myself the message is clear. Some one had met their goals and finally succeed and I will left it as that. But since these artworks are underground I look at it in a different aspect.
